May need rebooting

Dear chums, once again I have been spectacularly rubbish at keeping in touch and updating you both on what I’ve been up to. I’ve been up to quite a bit.  Which is the main reason why I’ve been spectacularly rubbish.

At present, I am ‘between Norms,’ having just put the finishing touches to number 7 – aka Must Be Washed Separately – and mulling over possible ideas for number 8 – aka May Need A Title.  That’s a joke, by the way.  It’s not really going to be called May Need A Title.  Although frankly, you just never know.  If I don’t come up with something better pretty darn soon, it may well end up being called that!  And the Norm activity book – May Need Filling In – is coming out in September.  So that’s quite exciting, if you like that kind of thing.  Not quite so exciting if you don’t.  And did I mention Norm 6 – May Need Rebooting – which was officially published last month?  I don’t think I did.  So yeah, May Need Rebooting was published last month.  It just kind of slipped out.  Rather like a………(insert joke of your choice here).

May Need Filling In

What else?  Well I’ve been doing a huge amount of events and festivals and school visits and generally talking complete and utter guff here, there and pretty much everywhere.  Actually that’s not true.  Not everywhere.  Not even close to everywhere.  But lots of places.  I spend a fair bit of time ‘on the road’ even when there isn’t a new book to promote.  But when there is, it all goes a bit bonkers.  In a strictly good way.  Because it’s great fun.  Mainly because I get to meet so many readers.  But it’s also brilliant to see so many different places.  Just in the last couple of months I’ve been to Paris, London, Norwich, Essex, Southampton, Portsmouth and Jersey.  Not only have I spoken to/mucked about in front of hundreds of pupils in the flesh (so to speak) I also did an event at a library in London to mark the publication of May Need Rebooting which was live-streamed to (I think) somewhere in the region of 400 schools watching online.  All in all I think I did 25 different sessions or events in the month of June alone.

Now perhaps you can begin to understand why I haven’t been around much on here lately.  I’ll try not to leave it so long again in future.  Although I’ve got a horrible feeling that’s exactly what I said last time!
